Small Desks

If you do not have a lot of space in your home or room investing in a small desk can save a lot of juggling. Having a flat surface for your laptop will make it easier to do whatever work you need to do at home in comfort.

You can place it in a corner or an out of the way area of the apartment that you don’t use for anything else or rearrange things in order to fit it in. You can pick up a cheap small desk at almost any large department store and they come in a variety of materials to suit your room or personal style.

Whether you are interested in glass, chrome, or maybe even one that will match your pine chest of drawers or white bedroom furniture I’m pretty sure there is one out there somewhere just waiting for you to bring it home.

One of my pet peeves is trying to find a clear surface to write on. I like to keep a notebook by my computer to jot down different things and when I there is no empty space to put my notebook it makes me cranky. Using your new desk, especially if it is a small one, clear except for things that you have chosen to use it for will help to keep things tidy and easy to find.

You could make one yourself but I’m suspecting that the cost of materials would run you at least as much as just buying a new one. I’d just as soon spend a few dollars and make sure that the desk that I am getting is stable enough for my uses. I’m not a woodworker though and if you are perhaps you could do a much better job than I.

If you do not have enough light in the area you are placing your desk adding a small desk light can add enough light to do whatever tasks you need. You can get a small table lamp or a regular desk light that is adjustable so that you can get the light directed to the area you need it. Light is important near a work desk so make sure that you have plenty.

Don’t take my word for it though, take a trip to your local department store and see what kind of small desks and accessories that they have available and at what price.
