Curtains for Sale

One of the very first things you should do when you need to buy curtains is to locate a place that actually has curtains for sale.  Yeah, I know, it’s a strange thing to say but if you’ve read any of my other hubs you should’ve expected something like that.

I’ve always been a fan of purchasing curtains at my local department store(s).  Blinds however get purchased at a home improvement type store y’know Lowes or Home Depot those types of places.   I will no longer let the home improvement places install a fence but they cut a mean blind.

Sorry I got a little off track there for a second.  I bought my last batch of curtains at … Pennies?  I think it was one of those larger places at the mall anyway.  That doesn’t include the ones my mother-in-law decided I needed when she came for a visit.  After washing my walls and giving me a lecture on under the rim toilet bowl cleaning she went off to Wal-mart and got me some old lady curtains for the kitchen and some beige curtain topper things for the living room.

By old lady curtains I do not mean curtains that an old lady would buy but they look (to me) like an old lady wearing an apron.  These berry curtains with a solid green half curtain thingy that are now in my kitchen and I’m pretty sure I remembered to say thank you.  I think… I don’t know she’s half senile so it doesn’t matter she wouldn’t remember anyway.

I’m not real crazy about them but I’m not much for home decorating so I leave them alone.  Don’t know if they were cheap curtains or not but at Walmart they probably didn’t cost a huge amount.

So I know for an absolute fact that you can find curtains for sale at department stores and I’ve heard rumors that they sell them online.  I’ve never actually used an online store for curtains but I might next time.  The selection looks to be much larger.

There seems to be an awful lot of online stores around.  Almost any phrase that I search for in Google leads me to an online shop that doesn’t really say much but they have pretty pictures to look at.  Pictures are ok but sometimes I like to read words as well.  I’m a bit strange that way.

I’ve always been a fan of velvet material and could probably find a nice pair of velvet curtains online.  I haven’t seen them at department stores but I normally just look at the color not the type of fabric.  It’s hard to see the fabric in those little plastic baggies that they keep them in.

Shoo now and find some curtains for sale and get them up over the windows.
