So You want to Get Backlinks

Do You REALLY Want to Get Backlinks?

Oh you poor deluded fool. You do NOT want to get backlinks, trust me. Oh look I’ve just opened a trust door, do you trust me? Will you buy what I sell? I didn’t think so, back to plan A.

Backlinks are the great cogs of the internet. It helps you to surf from page to page and kill all sorts of time that could be better spent doing something productive. Having a backlink from your site to another site is a way to tell the search engines that you like that site.

That sounds all nice and fuzzy but the reality is that most people only want to get backlinks they do not want to give them. It’s a thing, maybe a bad thing, but whether it’s good or bad it is. So deal with it.

If you are as charming and witty as I am you can just naturally expect people to link to you but most people do not have my luck and they need to find more…shall we say pedestrian ways to go about getting what is rightfully their due.

This is where places like Hub Pages comes in. You can get some Easy Backlinks for Writers. You write here, then link to your blog and then your site is suddenly flooded with masses of people all yearning to make you rich. Not quite.

You need to find about 100 places like this and write a bunch of posts and link them back to your site and hope you did it all right. Then maybe you’ll be so lucky as to make a few bucks a day. Now if you didn’t do it all right, you need to learn where you messed up and fix it. Maybe you need to find some Super Secret SEO Tricks to help you out.

You did all that with NO WORK, at least that’s what you’ll claim in your e-book, but I know different. I know how you typed till your fingers went numb and begged for backlinks from anyone who would listen.

I know you commented on blogs, posted on forums, and guest posted for anyplace that would take you. I do not think less of you for it, it is how the system works and we’ve gotta do it.

Perhaps if you’ve done all that already you can learn to become a Social Internet Marketer. I’ve heard that’s lucrative. Just selling stuff to people, how hard can that be? Maybe I should give it a whirl.

Not today though, I’ve got more hubs to write and more backlinks to find and more posts to write. Am I rich yet? I’d like to retire now, I’ve decided that internet marketing is not as glamorous as I thought.

It is work folks, don’t let any e-book that only costs $9.99 tell you that it is easy. It’s not. Becoming an Internet Marketer is as hard a job as any job I’ve ever had.
