Video game consoles are always a great idea as a gift for a teenager. They are kind of expensive but once a year a teen can get away with such an outrageous request. The best video game console is the one that most of their friends have. This way they can play games on each other’s consoles and stay out of your hair. The three main consoles this year are the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii. Any of these would thrill the most difficult to please teen.  Video game consoles are definately one of the best christmas gifts for teens in 2010.

Something a bit cheaper than a video game console would be an MP3 player.  If your teen doesn’t already have one of these they would absolutely love it.  They’ve gotten pretty cheap in the last few years and you can get a lot of memory in one for a reasonable price.  The main thing to look for in an MP3 player is how much memory it has.  Get as many “GB’s” as you can afford.  The higher that number the more songs it will be able to hold.  Most teens will ask for an "IPod" but they may be perfectly happy with a less expensive brand.  That depends on the teen of course.

Digital Cameras are also a great idea as a gift for a teenager. That or a video recorder could possibly be one of the best gifts. Teens like to record themselves and each other acting fooling and this is one way to immortalize that foolish behavior forever.

A new car is out of the price range of most families, but a new used car would be a big hit. If none of those ideas would work for your picky teen just fall back on the old stand-by...money. Teens do like to shop for themselves and giving them a few bucks or possibly a gift card to their favorite store is a great idea.
